Racing under the medieval walls of Vicenza in front of thousands of spectators, Alessio and training partner Vincenzo Maiorca — both from the Senigallia club — fought “a duel in the sun.” Maiorca took gold, Alessio silver in 9.703s, and Mexico's Jorge Luis Martinez completed the podium.
